I was in Nice on a family vacation and fortunately found Jean-Charles' website so i could enjoy a day in the mountains away from all the tourist traps. I took the train from Antibibes which worked out fine, 8 euro round trip. Much safer than the roads in the area.
The bike was tuned nicely and mechanically sound, no problems at all. The gps system worked perfectly, was out in the "wilderness" alone but had no concerns. Trails were nice, lots of fireroad climbs and some nice technical singletrack descents. The riding reminded me of riding in coastal California, dry but not desert conditions. Great views of Cannes and the mountain ranges. I have been riding offroad for 20 years and this was a solid challenging ride, would not advise beginners or girlfriends try this particular route.
Jean-Charles was awesome to deal with, he speaks perfect English and really went out of his way to make sure i had a great experience. Do yourself a favor and check it out!
As we choose a less difficult route (number 5), our expectations for the biking were not that high. But after the initial tarmac climb and some fire road sections, we had an amazing ride on flowy tracks. We are impressed at the effort you must have gone through to patch all these nice pieces of single-track together and making it a great ride, even for experienced mountain bikers. We sure hope we’ll be able to come back and try some more of your routes – and maybe do this one again!
My brother and I rented a Rockrider 9.2 full suspension bike from Jean Charles in march 2011. The first day we went from Nice to Monaco. The uphill was mainly on fireroads and road, the way down we rode some nice single track and a few technical sections and ended at the port of Monaco. The way back was done by train. On day two we went for a ride in the Esterel mountains. Again some chill uphills and sweet singletrack to shred on the way down :) JC offered to come with us on both rides, which was a real benefit as he could tell us about the region and local history. For those interested, there´s some pictures of our trip on my pinkbike account:

Thanks for an unforgettable time riding in the south of France JC!

I hired a 9.2 rockrider dual suspension MTB from Jean-Charles for 6 days in July 2010.
The riding was fantastic - through both forest and single track with some serious climbs! Jean-Charles was extremely helpful and even offered to come on a ride - i would recommend his bike hire to anyone and i will be back for more - cheers Jarrod
Vanesa and I were Jean-charles first ever customers! Quite significant really! A great way to spend the day, although we were a little out of our depth on some of the funky single-track. A few scratches never hurt anyone, although my lovely girlfriend still likes to remind me of them. Recommended for a great day out in the South of France.
Amazing. J'ai fait le parcours 7 avec un ami, et c'était le jour le plus mémorable de mes 6 mois en France. I recommend Jean-Charles to anyone looking to get away from the beaches and see the REAL south of France. He was very accommodating and friendly. The 14k uphill climb was a blast, with breathtaking views. We were in a little over our heads with one of the steep downhills, but only because I was still nursing a broken foot. This is an opportunity of a lifetime, and not to be missed, with or without a broken foot.

Had a great ride, I Highly recommend the services that GreenBike provides. The riding in the South of France is quite nice. The lush forest was fun. I don't remember which ride we did, but the trail varied from road, fire road, single track and a few technical sections. Great fun in the south of France for you fellow mtn bikers.
Cheers
Had a cracking time in the Red Esterel park, some good climbs and loads of trails. Also some quite rough downhill trails for those with better skills than me Very Happy
Plenty of standard routes available or have a word with Jean-Charles if you are after something specific who was very helpful and knows the area like the back of his hand!
They send you out with a GPS so you just follow the route, worked well and got me back in one piece!!
